Daniel F. Hoffman's Artist Statement
I have always been interested in mysterious places and people. However I have always felt content to let them be and not explore them. Simply knowing that they are there, an unexplored part of my life is enough. Exploration has always been an important part of my life, though it has almost always existed as a potential. This thesis work is an exploration of the unexplored. It is a celebration of the unknown. It is a remembrance of what is lost.
The attraction to the unknown is described through the exploration of animals. They hold a magical quality. Stories are contained within them never to be fully told. Communication takes place on a base level.
I am alone in my explorations; Alone with the subjects of my explorations. We are alone.
